Nuevo mazazo a la escena metal internacional con la triste noticia de la muerte, por causas desconocidas hasta el momento, de Wayne Static a la pronta edad de 48 años. En un momento en el que el metal alternativo y el metal industrial empezaron a fusionarse, (Pitchshifter, Nine Inch Nails, Mudvayne, Spineshank, White Zombie), la banda de Wayne Static empezó a hacer méritos propios a finales de los 90 con este incendiario debut llamado Wisconsin Death Trip, una explosiva amalgama de metal industrializado y melodías radiables capaz de poner tu mundo patas arriba con su contundencia sonora.
Con una manera de cantar que podía variar desde un registro más rapeado y furioso hasta un registro más brutal y desgarrado e incluso gutural en ocasiones, Wayne Static tampoco le hacía ascos a las voces limpias, un signo de identidad de una banda que ponía el foco de atención en un vocalista de lo más versátil y capaz.
En la parte musical está muy claro que bandas como Ministry, Fear Factory o White Zombie, eran claras referencias para Wayne y su banda, en la que era el líder indiscutible y cabeza pensante del proyecto, pero también es bien cierto que Static-X supieron como demostrar personalidad y talento suficientes para hacerse un hueco en una escena que a día de hoy, le llora sentidamente.
